The Clublokaal commons summer school, working period and exhibition for 2026/2027 has begun!

is an artist, museum educator and writer, based in Tilburg.
She weaves people, non-human beings and materials together into constellations. Her work serves as a portal for redefining relationships, from the personal to the planetary. Through world-building, ecological storytelling and communal gatherings, her practice aims to embody an emergency strategy of ‘commoning’, as a counterbalance to hierarchy, division and the exploitation of landscapes, knowledge and bodies.
During the summer school, she is looking forward to learning in a collaborative setting and working alongside the local initiatives and artists involved. She focuses on forms of intersectionality such as ecofeminism, queer ecology and the decolonisation of nature.
is a mother, artist, researcher and member of the Totomboti collective.
She grew up in Breda and is now returning to reconnect with the city, its history and the people and initiatives that shape it, through her current artistic practice.
In her practice, she explores how listening, singing and sharing knowledge can strengthen relationships. To this end, she has delved into topics such as ecological economics, lichens and forms of historical and ecological knowledge transfer.
Through ‘Seizoensarbeid’, she aims to further explore how sustainable relationships with a place can emerge and unfold. In Breda, she is focusing her attention in particular on the Markdal and the Mastbos. What stories, forms of knowledge and responsibilities converge in this landscape? And how can natural and cultural resources be jointly sustained and managed?

is a transdisciplinary artists’ collective that explores our (disrupted) urban ecosystems. The collaboration between artists Kate Price (Naarm, AU) and Guillem S. Arquer (Sant Fost de Campsentelles, ES) began in 2023 in their home city of Rotterdam. In their projects, they work alongside the more-than-human communities of urban soils and the human systems, processes and infrastructure that mediate our participation in them. These include gardening initiatives, municipal services and cultural institutions. Through their work, they strive for a reciprocal and non-exploitative future.
Whereas they previously helped maintain the Gouwplein Biodiversity Garden in Charlois or explored composting sites in Rotterdam, for the ‘Seasonal Labour – Learning in Community’, they will turn their attention to the soil(s), sugar(s) and waste of Breda, whilst shaping the recently established ‘shared grounds’ collective according to the logic of the commons.
is a multidisciplinary artist and cook who lives in Rotterdam and is originally from Shantou in southern China. In her work, she explores cultural narratives, ecology, craftsmanship, food and histories of migration. She is interested in how knowledge is transmitted through materials, practices and encounters, and in how relationships between people and places take shape over time.
Through ‘Seasonal Labour: Learning in Community’, she aims to participate in and contribute to local and self-organised practices, whilst reflecting on the less visible structures that enable collective work to take root and endure. She is curious about what happens after a one-off gathering: how relationships are maintained, how responsibilities are shared, and how care practices can become part of a collective process in the longer term.
are artists with a socio-relational practice. They carry out their collaboration within Clublokaal through the Para-Institute for Art and Precarity (pkp), an experimental framework that explores how precarity can serve as a starting point for collective organisation, artistic imagination and the shared production of knowledge.
At Clublokaal, they take their starting point from the local context and the encounters that arise there, where networks, interdependencies and forms of reciprocity unfold. From this practice, they approach art as a common: a space that emerges when the questions of where art is located, with whom and by whom it is created and experienced, and who its audiences are, take centre stage.
is a visual artist, project coordinator and art mediator.
She focuses on issues surrounding social and ecological inequality and creates participatory work to make space for a diversity of voices. Last year, she completed her Master’s degree in ‘Philosophy of Contemporary Challenges’ with a dissertation on the commons as a political and speculative space for resistance.
She is looking forward to coordinating the summer school, working period and exhibition, and to exploring, together with the participating artists and initiatives, what it means to put the commons into practice.
