The central question during this Open Huis 1 was: How can we reshape the concept of 'home' together?
For several years now, we have been in the midst of a major housing crisis in Europe, where our structures are being sacrificed in favor of tourism and investment. We live in constant uncertainty, with no guarantee that we will have a home in the coming week or month.
We made the building of Clublokaal our own by living in it collectively. Together we built a structure inspired by the blanket forts we built as children and we will develop a shared vocabulary of home, through various creative exercises. Can we create a collective home in the public sphere, where we can be together in an intimate way?
