17 July - 16 August
Maurice Spapens’ “Heart for Peace, Heart for Love”
Opening on Sunday 19 July at 3.00 pm.
NOTE: 14 through 18 July only visible through the window!
To commemorate the French Revolution (14 July) and the day the Second World War ended in the Netherlands (15 August), fashion artist Maurice Spapens is creating a large red heart this summer on the ground floor of Clublokaal, with all the colours of the rainbow around its edge.
Two memorable days to celebrate with Love in all its colours.
With his knitted paintings “Power To The People, Toon LEF (Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité), Make Love Not War”, Spapens gets to the heart of the matter: Love one another, respect one another as equals. World peace.
Maurice Spapens, a graduate of the St. Joost Academy of Art as a fashion designer, has been working for over 30 years as a (community) artist under the name Maurice Spapens Dutch Design. Through his projects, he constantly seeks love and connection, for example by knitting together in the Wild Knitting Room, his living room and exhibition space at Breda Central Station.
Visit from Friday until Monday, 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm.
