What does community mean? How can we live together, and what does that require? Strict adherence to rules? Unlimited tolerance? Or just a good drink? The Impossible Community is an initiative by philosophers Max Receveur and Anne Kolbe, and artists Maria Timmermans, Renske Huysmans, and Lotte van Kessel, which aims to explore and discuss the concept of community through the lens of various historical philosophers.
The Impossible Community meets on the first two Wednesdays of the month at Clublokaal. Members read and discuss texts by various philosophers to deepen and sharpen their ideas about living together.
